Blending architecture, art, and nature, Jeju cafés are more than just a place for coffee – they’re an experience! And you’re sure to see plenty of tourists ordering stunning looking drinks and food – just for the photo op!

Jeju Cafés and Coffee Culture
Let’s explore some of the best spots on the island to check out Jeju’s coffee culture and sweet treats.
Seaside Cafés (Aewol & Hallim)
Aewol and Hallim on Jeju’s western coast have earnt themselves a solid reputation for offering scenic waterfront cafés with great coffee and delicious pastries.
- Popular Spots: Monsant Café (once owned by G-Dragon), Bomnal Café, and Gongbech offer unbeatable sunset views
- Why Go: Outdoor decks overlook turquoise water, and interiors often feature lava rock and timber design
Too Tip: These cafés can get busy mid-day – arrive early or visit around sunset for quieter hours.
Specialty Coffee & Design Cafés
Jeju has a growing community of coffee roasters and tea artisans.
- Try: Coffee Nap in Aewol offers delicious coffee and bakery treats. Wiee offers the most amazing canolis and cube crossaints, as well as experienced baristas who take great care with your coffee (and it’s in a stunning location). Crackers Coffee is also one of our personal favourites and offers coffee to purchase, along with delicious cakes and sweet treats, in an industrial/rock setting with lots of greenery.
- Unique Touch: Many cafés use Jeju-grown honey, tangerine syrup, or green tea in their drinks which is well worth a try!
Tea Houses & Green Tea Farms
The island’s most famous tea spot is the Osulloc Tea Museum near Seogwipo, where you can sample the locally grown green tea and desserts like matcha roll cake. It’s also boasts an Innisfree gift shop, where you can purchase some amazing high-quality Korean skincare at affordable prices.
There are also plenty of smaller, independent tea houses throughout the island where you can experience quieter, more authentic experiences. But many are off the beaten trail and without prior knowledge you’d never know they were even there! Based on our experience, we recommend chatting with your accommodation host to see if they can recommend anywhere nearby.
Jeju Cafés for Desserts
Cafés in Jeju are renowned for their creative sweets (it can often be hard to find savoury options!). Some of the must-try items include:
- Tangerine cheesecake (tangerines are one of Jeju’s specialties!)
- Matcha bingsu (shaved ice dessert)
- Honey-butter toast and Jeju milk ice cream
Top Tip: Most cafés open late – often around 10–11 a.m. Always check their Instagram or NAVER profile for up-to-date hours.
