Let’s take a look at some of the must-see Jeju places to visit, including top sights, outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, and off-the-beaten-path treasures that make a visit to Jeju-do truly unforgettable.
About Jeju Island
Jeju Island (Jeju-do) is South Korea’s largest island and a UNESCO World Heritage site in its own right. It’s known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, beaches, and unique island culture.
Formed by volcanic activity over two million years ago, Hallasan Mountain stands proudly at its center (visible from almost everywhere on the island). It’s the heart of Hallasan National Park and the symbol of Jeju’s natural beauty.
Beyond its stunning scenery, Jeju has a culture unlike anywhere else in Korea. Centuries of isolation helped shape its distinct dialect, folklore, and traditions. From the famous Haenyeo, the free-diving women of the sea, to the dol hareubang stone guardians that watch over villages.
The island’s history is a story of its resilience, shaped by hardship and independence. Today, it’s one of Asia’s most loved travel destinations – the route between Seoul’s Gimpo Airport and Jeju International Airport is the busiest passenger air route in the world.
Whether you’re here to hike Hallasan, explore lava tubes, relax on white sand beaches, or discover its living traditions, Jeju offers a rare mix of natural wonder and cultural depth – and something for every kind of traveller.

Jeju Itineraries
Jeju is a small island – so it has the bonus of being able to visit in a day. But with so many places to visit, you can also easily spend a week (or more) exploring the island at a slower pace.
Based on our experience touring around the island, we’ve created different itineraries from 1 day to a full week.
All our itineraries aim to combine the best of what Jeju has to offer – but there is also lots of flexibility to mix and match to find the perfect itinerary for you.
Don’t forget to think about the time of year you visit. While the beaches are stunning year round, if you’re coming in winter bring plenty of layers (and a good quality jacket)! With the winds blowing in from Siberia, it can get pretty chilly on Jeju Island during the winter months (November to February).
